Heather

Veterinary Assistant

Hi! My name is Heather, and I’ve been a Vet Assistant with Pet Docks since January of 2024. I started this journey as a stepping stone to my long-term goals in veterinary medicine, and have loved every moment of it, especially regarding the pets I get to meet and care for every day. When I’m not caring for your animals, I’m spending time with mine. I have two pit mixes, Alby and Ophelia. I also have a cat, Ollivander aka Olly, who I got here as a feral. I love to foster, help find homes, and give time towards finding homes for pets who need someone. I love crafts and traveling. I’m also a big nerd. I love Harry Potter, Broadway, Star Wars, etc. I’m looking forward to meeting you and your pets!

Growing up, Alexis used to be eager to attend the veterinary appointments of her parents’ dogs. As Alexis watched the veterinary team help her dogs, she realized she was intrigued by the veterinary technician’s role. In 2022, Alexis enrolled in Platt College and started the Veterinary Technology Associate of Science Degree program. Alexis graduated in January of 2024. Once Alexis moved from California in August of 2024, Alexis joined the Petdocks team. Alexis enjoys spending time with her family and pug in her free time.

Chrissy

Veterinary Assistant

I’ve been in vet med since 1998 and at Petdocks since 2008, and I still learn something new every single day – that’s one of the best parts of this job (besides puppy kisses and kitten sass, of course). Helping animals has been my dream since I was a kid, and I feel lucky to live it daily. I love watching patients grow up and grow old, though saying goodbye is always the hardest part. I have a soft spot for poodles (they’re my favorite breed!) and an absolute obsession with cats – especially the spicy, opinionated ones. When I’m not at the clinic, you’ll find me cheering on my kids at their sports games or combing the beach for “treasures.” At home, I’m happily outnumbered by five fur babies: Fig the poodle mix, Russell and Nermal the cats, and my special needs pets Agent Pickle, my blind, special-needs cat, and Carlos, my 2 legged 5# wonder poodle- who totally runs the show.

Dakota

Receptionist

Hi! I’m Dakota your knowledgeable lead veterinary receptionist. I started working in the veterinary field when I was just 18 years old and it has been my passion ever since. When I’m not greeting your purrfect pets at the front desk, I’m at home surrounded by my own crew—11 cats and two very patient hound rescues! I’m passionate about animal care, a champion treat-giver, and a firm believer that a good nap can solve almost anything. Whether you need an appointment or just want to swap pet stories, I’m here to help (as long as I’ve had my coffee and a little extra sleep)!

Every day brings new smiles (and wagging tails!), and I feel so fortunate to be a part of your pets’ care team. Whether I’m answering your call or welcoming you in person, my goal is to help make your experience smooth, friendly, and efficient.

Outside of work, I share my home with four playful dogs and one sweet cat who make my days brighter and my life fuller. I am also a proud volunteer with the Carteret County Humane Society, where I support efforts to care for animals in need and help them find loving forever homes.

If you ever need to schedule an appointment, ask a question, or just share a fun story about your furry friend, I’m just a call or visit away ~ and always happy to help!
