Dr. Rachel Svendsen began working in veterinary medicine at 16 and spent seven years as a veterinary assistant before attending Ross University and completing her clinical training at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys caring for dogs, cats, exotic pets, and the occasional farm animal, with special interests in surgery, dermatology, and nutrition.
Growing up in a home filled with animals of all kinds inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine from a young age. Outside of work, Dr. Svendsen enjoys snorkeling, scuba diving, and baking, and she loves spending time with her daughter on playground adventures. She lives with her husband, Brendan, their daughter, Paislee, and their pets—two pitties, Theia and Loki, and two cats, Cai and Kovu.
